Recently we had the opportunity to speak to Elementary, Middle and High School educators and administrators about Entrepreneurship Education through EntreEd – The Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education. We really enjoyed connecting with this passionate community committed to teaching young people about entrepreneurship. We’ve since connected with several of the teachers who are leading amazing programs around the US that are impacting entire communities by empowering and equipping kids with the knowledge, skills and mindsets of entrepreneurs.
Here are just two of the programs that we’ve been impressed with:
- Generation E Institute in Battle Creek, MI. Generation E leverages a community-driven approach and instruction designed to empower every participant and to grow a business venture. Students become equipped with skills to compete and contribute to ever changing societal needs by connecting organizations around the community and student led projects, in partnership with schools. - DFLI (Delaware Financial Literacy Institute). Among DFLI’s programs is a Youth focused hands-on, interactive program created in 2007 that focuses on venture creation as a viable career option. Students learn about starting businesses and are given the opportunity and tools to run those businesses at a one day market. During camp, 9-14 year olds will learn the basics of business start-up; visit with entrepreneurs & tour local businesses; learn how to profit from their own businesses and run their own businesses at a market.
