It’s the beginning of 2013. What kind of adventure do you have lined up this year?
Ask yourself, are there ideas you have been putting off, too afraid due to fear of failure, that you know deep down could catapult your business, or your life, to the next level?
We’ve been inspired by a new TV show, The Failure Club, that seeks to shake the notion that failure is wrong. Here at The Garage Group we could not agree more, and want to encourage you to create a Failure Club of your own! Here’s how:
- Bring together a group of friends or colleagues who have a healthy regard for competition. See who can fail the hardest! Can you belt out the final act at your local Y’s chorus showcase, ride a bull at a Rodeo, or win a pie baking competition at the state fair? Together as a group, push each other beyond rational reasons why you can’t, to reasons why you can.
- Embrace the inevitable learning that comes with failure. Enjoy the ride!
- Apply your newfound courage wherever your dreams and big ideas live — whether it’s your personal life or your work. What is your dream for your organization, that others say you can’t do? By flexing your fearlessness muscle, innovation will become much easier in all facets of your life, and you will see better outcomes.
